I want to send a special thanks to Mr.Heang, my guide, translator, driver and friend. If you are going to Cambodia I can give him my best recommendations – his contact information HERE. A thanks to all of you giving donations, you made this happen. A special thanks to my father for his contribution and support of the project.
Fellow travellers have also given me help along the way, so I want to thank Roisin, Bibi, Tanya and Graydon. Wish you happy travels and maybe you are inspired to do something similar in the future.
I have raised 46400NOK + 130$ + 15€ = $8201,80! Every cent have come to good use and the last 75 cents went to buy a block of ice to cool the celebration-Fanta to the orphanage.
$1065: 1150 kg of Rice, 2250 packs of noodle, 224 bottles of fish sauce. Devided to the 224 poorest families in Srange Commune. We fed over 1000 people for one week.

$118: 150 kg of rice, 50 packs of noodle, 12 fish and soya sauce and 100 rehydration packs. Given to a family with 9 children struggeling to keep their children from being taken by orphanage. Father can now concentrate to get his firewood-business going.

$374,75: Spent 3 days at the orphanage and all together we bought them; 1000 packs of shampoo, 300 kg of rice, sugar, salt, soup, soya sauce, garlic and school materials and some toys.
$1180: We have drilled 8 water pumps. 1 at the commune house, 1 at the school and the rest at poor families without easy access to water.
Free: Donated blood at the childrens hospital in Siem Reap. I wish all tourist took the time to do this – it only takes 30 minutes and is well appreciated.
$260,75: Medical program at the primary school. Each child get deworming tablet and vitamin A every 3 months. Additionally I bought 2000 paracetamol, 3000 multivitamin, 500 rehydration packs and a lot of basic first aid.

This was an offering to the earth gods to bless and wish for a safe construction of the roof. A chicken, bananas, flowers and candles shows how much they appreciate your donations!

We started giving out deworming tablets (Mebendazole) together with vitamins. This is a procedure we want them to do every three months so the teacher notes down who has gotten the tablets. The supply we bought will last them for about 1 1/2 years, but we also hope this will make them continue the effort and see the health center in the next commune. Deworming-tablets are free for children there.

When I was here 2 1/2 months ago, Karianne and I went to donated blood to the childrens hospital. Had to tell a white lie, because you are supposed to wait 3 months between donations. But I’m a blood-making machine so I didn’t worry. Got a nice t-shirt and used it to make other travellers aware that you can do something else than just see Angkor Wat. It only takes 30 minutes.
Today me and travelfriend Tanya went to see how the construction on the roof was going and I wanted to make some thank-you-posters. The thing is that there is no school on Saturday of course, but Mr.Heang phoned the head master yesterday and told him we where coming. I hoped that a few kids would come with the promise of a little candy. Would you go to school on a Saturday just to get a lollipop? When we arrived we saw about 100 children playing in their new school uniforms! I can’t decribe what I felt, but thanks to your donations I have this chance to experience it. Wish I could post the sounds of the children giggeling and rejoicing, because the pictures isn’t enough. But I’m going to let the pictures do the rest of the talking.
